Greater Terre Haute Branch of the NAACP reschedules meeting

TERRE HAUTE — The Greater Terre Haute Branch of the NAACP will conduct its installation ceremony for recently elected officers and executive committee members-at-large at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 28. The event will in the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church fellowship hall at 1000 S. 15th St.

The ceremony is open to the public.

The general membership meeting for January has been rescheduled to Jan. 28 to allow members to participate in the activities planned on the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

Branch President Valerie Hart-Craig will represent the Terre Haute Branch at the inauguration of President Barak Obama on Monday in Washington, D.C. Hart-Craig will talk about that experience during the upcoming Branch meeting.

In its biennial election in November, the local NAACP branch re-elected Hart-Craig to a second two-year term. Also re-elected were vice presidents Sylvester Edwards and John E. Lang; Secretary Drucella Thomas; Assistant Secretary DianaCarole Hart; Treasurer A. Theressa Bynum; and Assistant Treasurer Oscar Session. Elected to at-large positions on the executive committee were Dennis Bialaszewski, Marsha Bialaszewski and Sandra Wickware.
