PARIS, ILL. —
A Paris, Ill., resident has died in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 57 in Champaign County, Ill.
District 10 Illinois State Police report that Lynsi J. Dundas, 27, was driving southbound on I-57 about 1 a.m. Monday when the accident occurred.
The vehicle left the roadway and struck a guard rail along the shoulder along southbound lanes.
The car then re-entered the southbound lanes and continued to travel toward the southeast, crossed the center median and northbound lanes, eventually striking a concrete bridge pillar. The vehicle came to rest along the northbound shoulder.
Dundas was extricated by emergency responders from the Champaign Fire Department and was pronounced dead on the scene by the Champaign County coroner.
