TERRE HAUTE — The Terre Haute area set a record high again Friday at 106 degrees — besting the previous record of 103 set in 1936. Thursday also saw a record high temperature of 106 degrees.
West Terre Haute residents Mike and NiCole Patterson let their dogs — Oopie the Australian Cattle Dog and Cayne the pit bull — play at the base of the Fairbanks Park boat ramp to keep cool Friday afternoon as temperatures topped the century mark.
The hot weather continued Friday with temperatures once again reaching 106 degrees.
The National Weather Services is calling for temps to be 100 or higher again today before cooling into the upper 90s on Sunday and Monday.
