CARMEL — A school bus rumbled through the backyard of a suburban Indianapolis home and crashed into the side of the house.
The Carmel Fire Department says no students were on the bus when the crash happened about 6:30 a.m. Wednesday. City fire marshal Bruce Knott says the driver was alert and taken to a hospital for evaluation.
The bus went off a street in the northern Indianapolis suburb, through a ditch and into the house facing a cul-de-sac. The impact tore bricks and guttering off the garage side of the house.
A cause for the crash wasn't immediately known and no one inside the house was hurt.
