Two Wabash Valley men killed in accident

Bicknell — Two Wabash Valley men were pronounced dead at the scene of an accident Friday around 6:34 a.m., about 11/2 mile north of Bicknell on Indiana 67, the Knox County Sheriff’s Department reports.

Stephen C. Postlewait, 19, of Oblong, Ill., was driving northbound, when his vehicle went left of center, striking a southbound vehicle driven by Jerry M. Summerville, 59, of Lyons. Postlewait and a front-seat passenger, John A. Griffin, 38, also of Oblong, were pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Knox County Sheriff’s Department.

Postlewait and Griffin were not wearing seatbelts. The sheriff’s department stated it was unclear why Postlewait’s vehicle went left of center, stating the department is still conducting an investigation of the accident.
