State representative Candidate Forum slated for Tuesday at Vigo library

TERRE HAUTE — The League of Women Voters of Vigo County, the Vigo County Public Library and the Tribune-Star will sponsor a Candidate Forum on Tuesday in the Vigo County Public Library at One Library Square (Seventh and Walnut streets) in Terre Haute.

The forum will begin at 7 p.m. and will conclude at 9 p.m. Republican candidates in the contested race for state representative, 42nd District, and Democratic candidates in the contested race for the office of state representative, 46th District, have been invited to participate in the forum that will be moderated by Max Jones, editor of the Tribune-Star.

Candidates in uncontested primary races have not been included.

The GOP candidates for the 42nd District are Jim Meece, Alan P. Morrison and Bill Webster.

The Democratic candidates for the 46th District are Larry D. Barker, James R. (Jim) Mann II and Charles (Chuck) Toth.

Participating candidates may distribute a written biography to the audience before the program begins and will be given one minute for an introductory statement once the forum gets under way.

During the timed event, the moderator will ask prepared questions, and each participant will have the opportunity to answer all questions. The audience may participate by submitting questions on cards provided by the League.

A candidate forum for candidates for Vigo County Council member at large and county commissioner, 2nd District is scheduled for Thursday.
