TERRE HAUTE —

The Vigo County Soil and Water Conservation District will host a lakes, ponds and watering hole workshop in regard to awareness of and to help minimize risk and liability when involved with property that encompasses a lake or pond dams.

The workshop will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m. July 11 at the Vigo County Library. This workshop is geared toward pond and lake owners, homebuilders, land developers, contractors, insurance agents, home inspectors, real estate professionals, lenders and anyone that has an interest in a dam. Learn about the valuable resource of lakes and ponds and the hidden danger that goes with ownership.

This workshop, which is sponsored by the State of Indiana and funded by a government grant, will help the public understand the economics, risk and liability that go along with lakes. An IDNR representative from the Division of Water will be on hand to answer any questions in regard to dam safety.

This is a free workshop but registration is requested. The workshop is approved for two hours of real estate continuing education. The individual wanting to earn these credits must be pre-registered and be present for the entire presentation. Light refreshments will be available.
