TERRE HAUTE — A July trial is scheduled for a man accused of setting two fires using Molotov cocktails.
Joseph A. Wagle, 30, appeared Tuesday via video in Vigo Superior Court 6, where Judge Michael Lewis set the July 12 trial date.
Wagle faces three charges of arson and one count of criminal mischief for his alleged involvement in a Feb. 27 arson fire in the 500 block of South Seventh Street, and a March 2 arson in the 1800 block of North 23rd Street.
The charges are class-A felony arson resulting in bodily injury for the Feb. 27 fire that endangered a married couple and their two small grandchildren, class-B felony arson for a March 2 fire that damaged the dwelling on North 23rd Street, class-D felony arson for damage estimated at $250 to $5,000 to a neighboring house on North 23rd Street, and class-A misdemeanor criminal mischief for damage to a 1995 Ford Thunderbird that sat between the two houses on North 23rd Street.
Attorney Michael Wright has been appointed as Wagle’s public defender.
