TERRE HAUTE — Two men are recovering from stab wounds following an altercation late Monday at a bar in the 2300 block of South 13th Street.
“It is still an ongoing investigation,” said Detective Dale Blunk of the Terre Haute Police Department. No arrests have been made in the case, but Blunk said either or both men could face battery charges.
The incident occurred at about 10:30 p.m. at Stephens Inn, where the two men, who know each other, were arguing about a mutual female acquaintance, Blunk said. The woman has a no-contact order against one of the men, the detective added.
According to Blunk, one man pulled a knife, both men fought over the knife, and both were wounded.
One man was given medical treatment and released to go. The other man was hospitalized with an unknown number of stab wounds to his abdomen. Those wounds are not life-threatening, Blunk said.
