Roll over accident on U.S. 41 South injures two

TERRE HAUTE — A two-vehicle accident on U.S. 41 in southern Vigo County this afternoon has slowed traffic as emergency workers clear the area.

Two people were injured in the accident, in which a mini van rolled over multiple times, according to the Vigo County Sheriff’s Department. None of the injuries were thought to be life threatening, said Chris Jones, a deputy with the Vigo County Sheriff’s Department at the scene.

There were no passengers in either vehicle, police at the scene said. The accident occurred about 3:30 p.m. south of Boot City and north of Pimento.

Less than a mile north of the first crash, a second accident took place, also in the southbound lane of U.S. 41. That accident may have been caused by traffic slowing for the first accident, police said.
