INDIANAPOLIS —
Helen Lindsey of Bloomfield knows exactly what she’s going to do with the $40,000 she just won playing Powerball with Power Play. The Greene County resident is going to San Diego to watch her son graduate from basic training in the United States Marine Corps.
Lindsey claimed her winnings Feb. 15 at Hoosier Lottery Headquarters in Indianapolis. She beamed as she talked about her plans.
“It’s on his 19th birthday, too! Now I’ll get to be there,” said Lindsey.
Adding Power Play to her Powerball ticket increased what would have been a $10,000 prize to a $40,000 prize in the Feb. 8 drawing.
Lindsey says it “feels good, real good” to win.
Lindsey purchased her lucky ticket at Petro Plus at 525 W. Main in Bloomfield. She matched four of the first five numbers and the Powerball number with Power Play.
