Christian ballet company to perform Monday at MCC

TERRE HAUTE — The world-traveled troupe Ballet Magnificat returns to Terre Haute for a 7 p.m. performance of “The Most Incredible Christmas” on Monday at Maryland Community Church.

Magnificat formed in 1986 and is considered the nation’s premier Christian ballet company. Its co-directors and co-founders are Keith and Kathy Thibodeaux. Fans of the original “I Love Lucy” television show may recognize Keith Thibodeaux, who played Little Ricky Ricardo.

Monday’s performance of “The Most Incredible Christmas” involves a story inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s telling of a town’s contest to find the most extraordinary and incredible thing about the Christmas season. Ballet Magnificat commits its work toward presenting the Christian gospel through drama, dance and personal witness.

Magnificat is being presented by Community Christian Counseling of Terre Haute, which provides faith-based counseling.

Tickets for the event cost $20 for adults and $15 for kids ages 12 and under, in advance. The price on Monday is $25 for adults and $20 for children. Tickets are available during regular business hours in the office at Maryland church, located at 4700 S. Indiana 46; at the Open Door Christian Bookstore west of Honey Creek Mall; and through Community Christian Counseling at 812-244-0400.

The doors open for the show at 6 p.m. Monday.
