TERRE HAUTE —
Assistant Chief Shawn Keen of the Terre Haute Police Department today confirmed that a declaration of a Silver Alert for David M. Schroeder — missing since Friday — has been denied. Schroeder’s doctor would not attest to a danger posed to his patient from lack of medication, one of the criteria necessary for a Silver Alert.
Schroeder’s family members, who had sought the alert, have been searching for the missing 56-year-old Clay County man since Friday, when he was last seen at a downtown Terre Haute bank.
Schroeder is described as about 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighing 230 pounds, with salt and pepper hair and a short pony tail. He has blue eyes and a goatee. He was driving a green 2000 Ford Ranger extended cab, flare-side truck, license plate number 1271275, according to a vehicle description posted by family on Facebook.
