TERRE HAUTE — Indiana State Police’s latest Operation Pull Over Blitz 54 netted 18 drunken driving arrests, according to area officials.
First Sgt. Dan Jones of the Terre Haute District reported that in addition to the 18 drunken driving arrests, 1,112 traffic citations were issued.
Operation Pull Over ran from March 7 to 23 and used extra patrols, special enforcement zones and federal overtime funds to extend the additional coverage.
ISP also made 23 felony arrests in addition to 40 misdemeanor arrests, and responded to 539 calls for service.
Seat-belt violations numbered 242, with an additional 1,091 traffic warnings and 727 moving citations issued.
The post also investigated 16 vehicle crashes, issued nine child restraint citations and 283 truck citations.
