Police arrest four in Vermillion drug bust

Controlled-buy part of investigation into prescription drug ring

CLINTON — A controlled-buy set up by Vermillion County Drug Task Force bagged four suspected drug dealers Thursday night in the parking lot of Clinton’s Wal-Mart.

The buy was arranged as part of an ongoing investigation into a prescription drug ring operating in Parke and Vermillion counties, which allegedly involved an overdose in Montezuma, according to a Vermillion County Sheriff’s Department report.

Lee Edward Moss, 32, of Terre Haute, Carl Albert Adams, 52, of Rockville, Angela Maria Spracklen, 40, of Rockville, and Adams’ 14-year-old stepson were arrested by Det. John Yoho and members of the Vermillion County Drug Task Force on allegations of financing, dealing and possession in a controlled substance.

The 14-year-old boy was taken into custody and released to a relative, according to a Vermillion County Sheriff’s report.

Seized at the scene was an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency, a .45 caliber handgun, a 1997 Chevrolet pick-up and 60 carisoprodol (soma) tablets, a Schedule 4 controlled substance.

The group remained in the Vermillion County jail Saturday without bail.
