BLOOMFIELD — A Daviess County man was killed around 6 p.m. Saturday evening in a one vehicle accident west of Bloomfield, according to the Greene County Sheriff’s Department.
Randy J. Guy, 52, of Elnora, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident on Indiana 57 by the Greene County Coroner’s office, according to a media statement issued Sunday by the Greene County Sheriff’s Department.
The accident took place on Indiana 57 at County Road 100 South, the media statement said.
A witness told police that Guy’s 1989 White Buick Lasabre was southbound on Indiana 57 when it crossed the center line for an unknown reason and ran into a ditch on the other side of the road where it then struck a culvert.
Guy’s vehicle then flipped several times before coming to rest just south of County Road 100 South, the witness told police.
There were no skid marks on the roadway prior to where Guy’s vehicle drove into the ditch, the media statement said.
In addition to the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, Switz City firefighters, Richland-Taylor firefighters and the Greene County Ambulance Service all responded to the accident, the media statement said.
