Nine people face drug-related charges in Vermillion; police looking for nine others

TERRE HAUTE —  

Nine people face drug-related charges in Vermillion County, while authorities are seeking another nine people on warrants following an investigation by the Vermillion County Drug Task Force.

On Tuesday, the drug task force, along with the Vermillion County Sheriff’s Department and Clinton Police, executed several arrest warrants for drug-related offenses ranging from dealing in methamphetamine to purchasing more than 3 grams of ephedrine in a seven-day period.

The drug task force confiscated more than 4 grams of methamphetamine, more than 45 grams of marijuana, numerous narcotic pills and several pieces of paraphernalia, as well as more than $7,000 in cash.

Expected to make court appearances in Vermillion County today are:

• Bess Stoops, 27, of Clinton, on two counts of maintaining a common nuisance, possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia.

• Rodney Stoops, 29, of Clinton, on one count of dealing meth, two counts of maintaining a common nuisance, and possession of marijuana, a controlled substance and paraphernalia.

• Darlene Adair, 47, of St. Bernice, on one count of dealing in a controlled substance.

• Jeffrey Shoemaker, 41, of Clinton, on two counts of failure to appear on two separate drug cases.

• Clint Lenover, 36, of Clinton, for possession of meth, marijuana, paraphernalia, maintaining a common nuisance and probation revocation.

• Lester Romanyk, 23, of Rosedale, for failure to appear on two counts of purchasing more than 3 grams of ephedrine in one week, and a new count of the same charge.

• Jason King, 25, of Clinton, for purchasing more than 3 grams of ephedrine in one week.

• Brandy Kirby, 21, of Clinton, for purchasing more than 3 grams of ephedrine in one week.

• Matt Huffman, 36, of Montezuma, for a parole violation and for visiting a common nuisance.

The task force was still seeking the following people on warrants as of Wednesday afternoon:

• George Rogers, 28, of Clinton.

• Donald Bohannon, 48, of Universal.

• Larry McCauley, 38, of Fairview.

• Brittany Oeffler, 22, of Terre Haute.

• Tyson Cargal, 28, of Terre Haute.

• Zachary Gilman, 22, of Terre Haute.

• Crystal Harper, 28, of Terre Haute.

• William Collins, 53, of St. Bernice.

• Timothy Hastings Jr., of Terre Haute.
