Catholic Charities to host breakfast, program on hunger today

TERRE HAUTE — Terre Haute Catholic Charities Foodbank, a member of Feeding America, will host a public breakfast and program starting at 8:30 a.m. today at the foodbank at 1356 Locust St.

Emily Weikert Bryant, executive director of Feeding Indiana’s Hungry (FIsH), which operates nine regional foodbanks in the state, will be the featured speaker. Visiting Nurses/Hospice of the Wabash Valley also will  speak about raising funds for its Orange Friday program.

Other speakers include John Etling, executive director of Terre Haute Catholic Charities, and Tom Kuhl, agency director of the foodbank.

September is Hunger Action Month. As a member of Feeding America, the  nation’s largest emergency food network, Terre Haute Catholic Charities Foodbank hopes to raise awareness as well as donations to help individuals who struggle with hunger.
