Great effort to battle outbreak

I would like to thank the VCSC leadership for the great effort shown during the chickenpox outbreak.

This includes monitoring the situation, getting information to our parents and setting up vaccination clinics for staff and students. Many hours were spent planning, making phone calls and monitoring the outbreak. The collaboration of our school nurses, support staff and outside agencies making sure our school community has the immunizations required by the state of Indiana was outstanding.

We at Woodrow Wilson have now unexpectedly been involved with two types of clinics. The first was last year when a suspected tuberculosis case meant that everyone had to be tested for tuberculosis. Thankfully, the first clinic yielded no positive results. This year was the chickenpox outbreak. Both times VCSC leadership and school nurses worked hard to ensure our students’ health.

Thank you for the many hours and guidance given to the families of the VCSC.
