Red Cross appreciates beautification
On the cold and blustery Saturday morning of Oct. 24, almost 30 GE volunteers from Unison Engine Component’s Terre Haute location descended on the American Red Cross Wabash Valley Chapter property for a much needed beautification and maintenance project.
These ambitious and caring volunteers landscaped the front of the building, painted, power washed, sealed the parking lot, striped the parking lot, replaced light bulbs and much more! They gave their time and completed the project at no cost to the chapter.
One of our board members commented that the front of the building looked the best it had looked in 25 years.
On behalf of the American Red Cross Wabash Valley Chapter, I thank GE for underwriting this project and the GE employees of Unison for thinking of their American Red Cross.
We invite the public to drive by and see the change!

Obama must act on Afghanistan
First of all, I would like to send my heartfelt condolences to the family of Sgt. Dale Griffin, another brave young American that made the ultimate sacrifice.
Then, on the other hand, it made my stomach turn to see Mr. Obama and his little photo op at Dover AFB.
This man’s arrogance never ceases to amaze me. He has time to play golf, entertain his friends at the White House, raising millions of dollars for the Democrat Party, flying around the country campaigning for candidates that are in danger of being defeated. All of this is while he ignores General McChrystal’s request for more troops that has been sitting on his desk for the past two months while more brave men and women die in Afghanistan.
I urge you Mr. Obama, make up your mind, either send the resources needed to complete our mission in Afghanistan or wave your white flag and withdraw our troops. Don’t let this turn into another Vietnam, don’t make another family have to grieve because you are incapable of making a decision.
