A great year for Patriot Brigade at North High School

On behalf of the Terre Haute North Patriot Brigade Band Booster Association, we congratulate the 2012 Terre Haute North Patriot Brigade Band and Color Guard for a tremendous year. Beginning this past summer, the members of the Patriot Brigade have spent countless hours of practice in the hot summer sun and rain, all in an effort to perform at the highest level possible during the past marching band season.

Competing against some of the powerhouse programs in the state, the THN Patriot Brigade not only held their own, they also achieved some of their highest ratings in recent years by routinely placing in the upper echelon in their division. Earning first place awards and sweeping competition awards in multiple contest this year set the tone for a successful marching season. Performing strong throughout the year, the Patriot Brigade wrapped up their season with successful performances in the Bands of America Super-Regional at Lucas Oil Stadium and during the finals of the Mid-States Band Association competition in Ohio, where they competed against bands from Indiana, Ohio, Michigan and Kentucky.

Levels of success are not easily achieved as hard work, dedication and the willingness to commit oneself to the betterment of the entire group is needed. The continuation of building the THN Patriot Brigade program and creating a sustained culture of success remains the focus of our Director of Bands Brooke Basso, our Assistant Director of Bands Jeremy Basso and their entire staff. Their devotion to creativity and development of young musicians and guard members is very evident in the continued success of the band program.

Certainly, it goes without saying, the contributions of our band parents, volunteers, as well as the ongoing support of the Vigo County School Corp. and in particular, Mrs. Smith, THN principal, and her staff is definitely appreciated as the THN band program moves forward. Equally important has been the ongoing contributions of many local businesses, family, friends and alumni band members who also continue to support the financial needs required to provide our band with the necessities to perform at such a high level.

As our seniors move on in their post-secondary and career pursuits, they will not only look back on their experience with fond memories, but should be proud of the foundation of success they have achieved throughout their Patriot Brigade experience.

They will also carry with them a valuable work ethic cultivated by their experiences in the THN Patriot Brigade.

Although expectation will continue to be high as the Patriot Brigade prepares for winter competitions and their Spring 2013 performance at Disney World, the undergraduate band and color guard members will be able to build on the levels of success already established by earlier members of the Patriot Brigade.

Congratulations again to all of the Patriot Brigade Band Members for another successful marching band season and for representing Terre Haute North High School at a very high level.
