How about a parade for war veterans?
I read with interest the article on the upcoming parade for Steve Weatherford. That is all fine. I guess, honoring a punter on a football team. He appears to be an upstanding citizen, even probably a role model and he probably deserves a parade.
My question is, where were the parades when our local veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan returned home? The local Marine Corp and Army Reserve Units and our airman from the 181st, don’t they deserve a parade? After all, in my eyes, they are the real heroes. How about us Vietnam veterans? The only thing we got when we returned home was people spitting on us and calling us baby killers.
I am not trying to take away anything from Mr. Weatherford, he has worked hard and he deserves to be honored by his home town. But doesn’t our veterans deserve something also?

Rubber reptiles will chase off crows
I have a suggestion to your crow problem in Terre Haute.
We had the same issue where I work, and we placed rubber snakes outside the doors and windows. We have not seen a crow in eight months.
You can get them at a dollar store.
Good Luck.
