Politics is all in how you define it
I am very sorry that Shirley Thomas has so little confidence in her personal decision-making ability. I don’t always make the right personal decisions, but my parents taught me to think for myself. Therefore, I wanted to know “why is Shirley Thomas a liberal while I am a conservative?”
I went to the Internet and typed in “liberal/conservative.” Here is what I found:
Conservatives prefer smaller government, less regulations, most services to be provided by the private sector in a free market, and a literal interpretation of the Constitution.
Liberals prefer larger government, more regulations, and services (like health care) to be provided by the government and a loose interpretation of the Constitution.
Economically, conservatives think government should tax less, and spend less. Tax rates should not be higher for high-income earners.
Economically, liberals think government should tax more and provide more (like health care). High-income earners should pay a larger percentage of their income as taxes.
Socially, conservatives oppose gay marriage, abortion, embryonic stem cell research, and support the right for individuals to bear arms.
Liberals are not opposed to gay marriage, abortion, and stem cell research and are opposed to individuals being allowed to bear arms.
There are many more differences between the two philosophies (education, death penalty, energy, euthanasia, global warming, homeland security, immigration, private property, religion, Social Security, the UN, and the war on terrorism).
I would suggest that you and everyone else go to the Internet and type in “liberal/conservative” (on Google) and see for yourselves.
Politicians are experts in two things — how to get elected and how to stay in office. That does not make them experts in running your life. Stand on your own two feet and do your own thinking.

Law’s purpose is to destroy unions
The right-to-work law is a farce. It’s only purpose is to destroy the unions and workers rights.
It will give people an excuse to take a free ride. My question is this. Are the Republicans going to let us opt out on paying our taxes if we don’t like the elected government?
