NEW: Indiana lawmakers to take up alcohol bills

INDIANAPOLIS — Committees in the Indiana House and Senate plan to consider bills that would change Indiana’s alcohol laws.

The Senate Public Policy Committee will take up a bill today that would allow Sunday takeout alcohol sales from microbreweries. They are smaller breweries that are limited in the amount of beer they can make each year.

The House Public Policy Committee will consider a bill that would allow alcohol sales during voting hours on Election Day. That proposal won unanimous endorsement from a summer study committee on alcohol sales.
