Two walk away from minimum security facility

NEW CASTLE — The Indiana Department of Correction (IDOC) announced the walk away of two offenders from the New Castle Correctional Facility minimum-security unit this afternoon.

Johnny Hines Jr., 26, and Christopher Hoover, 32, walked away from the facility at about 2 p.m. today.  

Hines is described as a white male, about 6 feet tall and 200 pounds, with green eyes and brown hair. Hoover is described as a white male, about 6 feet and 180 pounds, with green eyes, brown hair with a beard and wears glasses. Both men were last seen wearing a white T-shirt and khaki pants, sweatpants, or black shorts.

Hines is from Muncie and is serving two concurrent 18-month sentences for theft, receiving stolen property and check fraud. Offender Hines arrived at New Castle on April 10, and his earliest projected release date was July 2, 2012.  

Hoover is from Greensburg, and is serving two concurrent 8-year sentences for burglary and mischief. Offender Hoover arrived at New Castle on Jan. 24, 2012, and his earliest possible release date was Oct. 7, 2013.
