INDIANAPOLIS —
A teenager left unable to walk after being injured in last summer’s Indiana State Fair stage rigging collapse has graduated with his high school class.
Brad Humphrey took part in Tuesday night’s commencement ceremony for Crispus Attucks Medical Magnet High School’s seniors at the Indianapolis school.
Humphrey was the top player on the school’s tennis team last year, but now uses a wheelchair after suffering a spinal injury in the Aug. 13 collapse before a concert by the country duo Sugarland that killed seven people and injured dozens more.
Crispus Attucks principal Stephanie Nixon tells WRTV that Humphrey’s drive to return to school was inspirational to his fellow students and brought his senior class closer together.
