Saint Mary-of-the-Woods placed four players in double figures, but the Pomeroys lost 88-79 to Greenville on Friday night, falling to 1-8 on the season.
The women’s college basketball team got 15 points from Brittany Shaner, 14 from Alaura McKemie, 13 from Chelsea Weaver and 10 from Brandi McDaniel.
Soccer
• Engineers honored — Rose-Hulman placed two players on the National Soccer Coaches Association of America all-Great Lakes Region Men’s Team, according to results released Thursday.
Juniors Mike Schiff and William Senat earned third-team all-region honors for their efforts on a Rose men’s soccer team that won its third regular-season conference championship in the past five seasons.
Schiff claimed HCAC Defensive Player of the Year honors for the second consecutive year and became the second player in Rose-Hulman men’s soccer history to win two conference Player of the Year awards. He appeared in 19 matches this season to earn all-conference honors and scored his first career goal as the game winner against Hanover.
Senat led Rose in scoring with 10 goals, three assists and 23 points. He tallied three game-winning goals and had both goals in the team’s key 2-0 HCAC victory over Franklin and was a first-team all-HCAC selection.
Schiff and Senat earned the 14th and 15th all-region honors in Rose-Hulman men’s soccer history. The Engineer program has combined for 10 all-region awards since 2008.
Rose finished the season with a 12-5-3 record and was 8-0-1 to tie for first place honors in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference standings.

• Ace posted — At Rea Park, Chuck Cardinal Jr. of Terre Haute used a 6-iron to record his first career hole-in-one on the 135-yard third hole Thursday.
