Two Ben Davis pitchers held host Terre Haute South to three singles Monday night, enabling the Giants to win 4-2 in Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference high school baseball.
The Braves play at Shakamak this evening, then get a second shot at Ben Davis on Wednesday at Indianapolis.

• Shakamak 1, North Central 0 — At Farmersburg, Brodie Crowe broke up Connor Strain’s no-hit bid with a seventh-inning homer to decide a pitchers’ duel between ranked SouthWestern Indiana Athletic Conference teams.
Crowe’s blast was the only ball that Class A’s fifth-ranked Lakers hit out of the infield against Strain, who struck out nine. Winning pitcher Patrick Green pitched a four-hit shutout and fanned 12.
North Central entered the game ranked second in Class 2A.

Highlights — Brodie Crowe’s homer was the only hit for the Lakers, who got 12 strikeouts and a four-hit shutout from Patrick Green. Connor Strain struck out nine and had one of the four hits for North Central, while twin brother Tyler Strain had a double and Collin Harding and Zach Lyday also singled.
