Vincennes — South Vermillion defended its title with a perfect 5-0 record to win the Vincennes Lincoln Invitational high school wrestling championship on Saturday.
Wildcats finishing the day undefeated with 5-0 records were Spencer Bishop, Trent Wallace, Alex Thomas, Andrew Brown, Troy Price, Tyler Smith and Dalton Millikan. Combining for a 5-0 record at the 189-pound weight class were Lucas Kelsheimer (2-0) and Alex Foltz (3-0). Two Wildcats are still undefeated for the season, Millikan at 125 pounds and Wallace at 285 with 10-0 records.
“It was a very exciting day for our team. For the past four years, the Wildcats have been able to win this tournament and that is quite an accomplishment for these young kids,” coach Ron Stateler said.

Robinson edged Marshall 36-34 in overtime, as the Maroons’ Jordan Connelly hit a 3-pointer with two seconds remaining to send the game into overtime, then her drive to the basket provided the winning margin in OT.
