Casey, Ill. — No. 1-seeded Casey jumped on Alton Marquette with two first quarter touchdowns and never looked back on its way to a 42-7 victory in a Class 2A IHSA football playoff victory on Saturday.
Billy Seeley had two touchdown runs for the unbeaten Warriors (10-0), who rushed for 316 yards overall. Seeley accounted for 146 of those yards. Austin Ragsdale added 75 rushing yards.
Brett Livvix was efficient with the Warriors’ passing game as he completed 12 of 15 pass attempts for 110 yards and two touchdown passes.
Casey’s defense forced three Marquette (5-5) turnovers and held their offense to 224 total yards.
Casey (10-0) will have to travel next week as it will play at Red Bud in the second round of the IHSA playoffs. No. 9-seeded Red Bud defeated No. 8-seeded Chester 40-16 on Saturday.
