PREP ROUNDUP: West Vigo girls end regular season with triumph

TERRE HAUTE — West Vigo wrapped up its high school girls basketball regular season on a good note Thursday, winning 48-16 at Covington.

Brooklyn Waters had 10 points and eight steals and Cassidy Carlson nine points and six thefts for the visiting Vikings, who broke the game open by outscoring the winless Trojans 16-1 in the second quarter.

• Rockville 55, Fountain Central 48 — At Rockville, the host Rox held off a second-half comeback in a Wabash River Conference game that was originally to be played tonight.

Drew Kelley scored 14 points, Lane Mahurin 13 and Joel Wittenmeyer 12 for the Rox, who raced to a 28-11 halftime advantage. Ryan Carver had a game-high 15 points, Tanner Pierce 12 and Brody Sowers and A.J. Stockdale 10 each for the Mustangs.
