TERRE HAUTE —
No. 2-ranked Park Tudor proved too powerful and ousted Terre Haute South’s boys tennis team from the IHSAA state tournament Saturday with a 5-0 victory at the Center Grove Semistate.
Park Tudor, which won every match in straight sets Saturday, will move on to the eight-team state finals Friday at Indianapolis North Central.
“A lot of the matches [Saturday] had some good points,” South coach Bill Blankenbaker said. “It was better than what it looked like on paper. I was pleased with the way we played.”
The Braves (15-4) will lose only one senior starter, Alex Barksdale, to graduation for 2013. That caused Blankenbaker to say: “I’m looking forward to next season already.”
