PREP ROUNDUP: Smith leads Class 2A No. 8-ranked Arrows to victory

SULLIVAN — Rhagen Smith had a double-double and host Sullivan took a 21-point lead into the fourth quarter of an eventual 52-40 win over North Knox in girls high school basketball Monday night.

Smith had 23 points and 11 rebounds for Class 2A’s eighth-ranked team, which also missed just one free throw for the game.

Lauren Charlton scored 13 points and Maria Gugliotta 11 for North Knox.

Ryann Chiddix scored 16 for Oblong, which didn’t attempt a free throw. Hallie Smith had 12 for Union.

Emily Bishop and Ariana Kuhn combined for 11 other blocks for Marshall. Amy Koebele and Morgan Swingler had 13 and 11 points respectively to lead the Eagles.

Faith Williams added 10 points and 10 rebounds for the winners, while Michaela Montgomery and Taylor Birchfield combined for nine points for the Warriors.
