Vincennes hands North Central 3rd loss

VINCENNES — North Central lost for only the third time this season in high school baseball Tuesday, dropping a 6-4 decision at Vincennes Lincoln.

Losing pitcher Connor Strain went 2 for 3 and Nate Lyday doubled for the Thunderbirds.

Highlights — For North Central, losing pitcher Connor Strain went 2 for 3 and Nate Lyday doubled.

Next — North Central (11-3) will play host to Union next Monday.

Postponements

• Called off
— Morning and early-afternoon thunderstorms caused most Wabash Valley athletic events scheduled for Tuesday to be cancelled. Included among the games lost to weather were the Terre Haute North-Terre Haute North softball game and baseball and softball games that were to pit West Vigo vs. Northview.

The North-South softball game, to be played at South, was rescheduled for today with a 5 p.m. junior varsity start time. Another cancelled event Tuesday — the South Vermillion at Sullivan baseball game — also was rescheduled for today.

West Vigo’s baseball game at Northview will be played May 7, as will the postponed South Vermillion-Sullivan softball game.
