Pizza Hut Wabash Valley Classic postponed

Tournament scheduled to begin on Dec. 27

Due to blizzard warnings in the Wabash Valley and beyond, organizers have postponed the start of the Pizza Hut Wabash Valley Classic.

Scheduled to begin on Wednesday, the popular high school boys basketball will now begin on Dec. 27 at Terre Haute South.

Game times remain the same for all days of the tournament, they merely revert to the following day. The final day of the tournament will be played on Monday, Dec. 31.

It is the first time in the history of the tournament that games have been delayed for any reason.

According to the Pizza Hut Wabash Valley Classic Twitter feed, a determination as to whether the tournament can begin on Thursday will be made on Wednesday.

Forecasts call for 5-8 inches of snow and winds that are expected to exceed the 30-mile-per-hour mark.
