PREP ROUNDUP: North girls top South Vermillion

TERRE HAUTE — Terre Haute North finished its regular season on a high note as the Patriots defeated South Vermillion 57-38 in girls high school basketball action Tuesday.

Danielle Ketner paced North (8-12) with 15 points, while Nicole Anderson added 14 points. Olivia Finley had 10 points.

South Vermillion was led by Allie Milam’s 21-point effort.

Paris is the top seed in the Casey-Westfield Regional and Chrisman is the No. 2 seed at Broadlands.

• Marshall 71, Oblong 54 — At Oblong, Ill., the Lions won their ninth straight game Tuesday and remained unbeaten in the Little Illini Conference.

Taylor Duncan had 23 points and seven rebounds for 16-3 Marshall. Dustin Morey had 13 points and Jordan Grooms 10 while Jake Tucker had a team-high nine boards.

The Lions go for 10 in a row Friday at Edwards County.

• Robinson 69, Newton 52 — At Newton, Ill., Ben Jones and Meyers Leonard scored 22 points apiece to lead the Maroons to an Apollo Conference victory on Tuesday.

Robinson fell behind 17-9 after one quarter, but limited the host Eagles to just two points in the second quarter.

Martinsville also received double-figure scoring from Bryant Washburn (17), Blaine Washburn (13) and Matt Sanders (12).
