PREP FOOTBALL ROUNDUP: Northview rallies for win over Edgewood

ELLETTSVILLE — Tucker Stewart and Jesse Miller ran for touchdowns and Trey Boor kicked a 48-yard field goal and two extra points in the fourth quarter to lead Northview to a come-from-behind 20-13 victory over host Edgewood in Western Indiana Conference high school football Friday night.

The Knights didn’t score at all until Boor booted a 22-yard field goal with one second left in the first half, then they went scoreless in the third quarter before busting loose in the final 12 minutes.

Miller finished with 115 yards rushing on 21 carries and Stewart, the Northview quarterback, added 106 yards on the ground on 14 attempts. Tyler Rector caught five of Stewart’s passes for 127 yards.

On defense, the Knights’ Chase Haring and Drake McKee had one interception apiece.

• Rockville 27, Covington 7 — At Rockville, Kiontre Wilkey scored two touchdowns, Ryan Lewis passed for one TD and ran for another and Ben Cunningham rushed for 80 yards on 16 carries to lead the host Rox to a convincing Wabash River Conference victory.

• North Central 42, North Daviess 18 — At Elnora, North Central improved to 2-0 with the victory. No other details from game were reported.

Illinois

• St. Joseph-Ogden 67, Marshall 28 — At Marshall, Ill., the Spartans scored the last 40 points to win the opener for both teams Friday.

Chase Patton scored four times for the winners. Brock Hook had two touchdowns for the Lions.

Marshall fell behind early when the Spartans blocked a punt and recovered it in the end zone and led 6-0. The Lions went up 7-6 on Hook’s first score.

The Spartans took the lead again following a bad snap on a punt and held a 20-14 lead at the first stop. They hiked that lead to 27-14 on the first play of the second stanza but the Lions came back to regain the lead at 28-27.

Cole Rice went 62 yards to score the Lions’ third touchdown and Austin Osborn hooked up with Kendall Bombard for a 75-yard scoring play to lead by the point.

The Spartans took the lead again on a pass play and had a 34-28 lead at the intermission.

Riley Spencer passed for 192 yards, 141 of those on eight catches by Audie Temples, and Stewart Arp had 85 yards rushing for Paris.
