Vincennes — West Vigo’s No. 1 player Joel Modesitt lost in three sets to Nick Volz of Evansville Central 6-2, 4-6, 6-1 and was eliminated in the championship match of the Indiana High School Boys Tennis Individual Singles Tournament on Vincennes Lincoln’s courts Saturday.
Modesitt finished his senior season with a record of 14-2.

n Wildcats win — At Nashville, the South Vermillion Middle School girls won the Western Indiana Conference junior high championships at Eagle Park.
South Vermillion also had the first-place individual runner in Emily Vitaniemi (12:40).
Edgewood won the boys team championship led by its first-place runner Michael Mest (10:20).
