TERRE HAUTE — Pace Community Action Agency Inc. is excited about the results of its Health Connection federal review conducted in October. Every year, Indiana Family Health Council officials conduct a clinical audit of Health Connection’s services. This year they visited Vincennes and the Terre Haute locations while reviewing medical documentation, clinical performance, forms, policies and procedures. Health Connection achieved compliance in all areas.
Michelle Pitcher, Health Connection manager, said, “We have accomplished an outstanding review for the program because of all staff providing excellent patient care.”
Health Connection provides physical assessment examinations for males and females, Pap testing, breast examinations, pregnancy testing and counseling, HIV testing, sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment, contraceptive counseling and birth control methods. Health Connection also provides group and individual education and counseling tailored for specific needs. Emergency contraception, medical/social referrals, and counseling are provided for respective clients.
“The purpose for our services is to provide reproductive health care, contraception, education, and counseling to uninsured and low-income individuals that would otherwise be unable to afford them,” Pitcher said. “However, Health Connection services are available to one and all.”
