TERRE HAUTE — A big cash prize and lots of helpful information for Wabash Valley seniors will be on tap at Saturday’s 2009 Tribune-Star Senior Expo in Hulman Center.
More than 40 informational booths, health screenings and prizes will be available during the Expo, which runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
“It’s always been really popular,” said Tanya Wilhoyte, advertising sales manager at the Tribune-Star and organizer of the 2009 event. Around 700 people are expected to attend.
Some of the vendors with booths at this year’s Expo include AP&S; Clinic, AARP, Cobblestone Crossing, Conservatory of Music, Meadows Manor, Meals on Wheels, Osher Lifelong Learning Center, the Vigo County Public Library and the Indiana Office of the Attorney General.
In addition to the informational booths, bingo games will be played each hour, Wilhoyte said.
“We have some really good bingo prizes this year,” Wilhoyte said. Participants in the Expo also will have an opportunity to win a $100 grand prize, she said.
The Expo is a worthwhile event for seniors, Wilhoyte said. The event, now in its 10th year, provides a tremendous amount of useful information in a single place, as well as a good time, she said.
