Plans under way for Clark County Biathlon

MARSHALL, ILL. — Plans for the Clark County Spring Break Biathlon 3.1-mile run/15-mile bike plus the 1-mile fun run/walk are under way. The event is to take place April 20 at Mill Creek Park, 20482 E. Park Entrance Road, in Marshall, Ill.

The running route is mostly paved road with a short section of gravel; the bike route is paved road with mild elevation change.

The 1-mile fun run/walk starts at 9 a.m. CDT at the Lion’s Shelter by the boat ramp. The biathlon starts at 9:30 a.m. Registration and packet pickup will be from 8 to 9 a.m.

Light refreshments will be served and door prizes distributed as biathlon awards are presented (individual male and female age categories, plus teams will be awarded). The 1-mile fun run/walk does not include timing or medals.

All participants must wear ANSI- or Snell-approved helmets during the cycling portion of the event.

Teams are encouraged. Teams should submit entry forms together and check the box indicating which team member is the runner and which team member is the biker.

To be guaranteed a T-shirt, register by March 22.

Proceeds will help fund future Clark County Park District Trails activities.
