TERRE HAUTE —
A benefit for Mary Franklin of Terre Haute is scheduled 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday in Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 972 at 12th and Mulberry streets in Terre Haute.
Franklin, 79, has stage 4 breast cancer that has spread throughout her body. She worked for the elderly and disabled of all ages up until a recent fall, when doctors also found cancer in her bones. She is now unable to work and without insurance.
Franklin’s children plan a benefit dinner, auction, raffles, door prizes and a cash bar with hope that the benefit will help offset expenses she has incurred and will continue to receive. Any and all donations will be greatly appreciated.
