Paint The Town Pink Carnation Sale is May 11

TERRE HAUTE — The Wabash Valley Breast Cancer Survivor Organization will paint a huge pink ribbon on the pavement at Sixth Street and Wabash Avenue on Sunday to kick off its 11th annual Paint The Town Pink Carnation Sale on May 11.

The dark pink carnations will be sold for $1 each with proceeds to be used for assisting women who are uninsured and cannot afford mammograms, as well as providing education about breast cancer and advocacy for women’s health issues.

Members from the organization along with interested area volunteers will be selling the carnations. Purchases or donations may be made beginning 10 a.m. at the following locations:

• TV and radio station WTHI-TV: Carnations will be sold in front of the station from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

• First Financial Bank’s downtown main office, Springhill, Southland, Meadows, West Terre Haute, and Plaza North banking centers along with the bank’s Operations Center; also First Financial Bank in Rosedale

• Inside The Meadows shopping center, in front of MCL and Stein Mart

• Also businesses Hobby Lobby, Rural King, Sam’s Club and O’Reilly’s Auto Parts (South Third Street location)

Delivery is available for orders more than $20. Carnation arrangements in vases, corsages and small carnation bowls also will be available for purchase.

Advance orders may be made by calling Coral Cochran at (812) 877-3025 or (812) 249-2951. Orders should specify name (individual, business or group) address, daytime phone number, number of carnations, total cost and the preferred location for pickup or delivery.
