Vigo County Relay for Life changes location

TERRE HAUTE — The location has changed for Saturday’s Relay for Life event in Vigo County.

Due to unforeseen circumstances at the previously scheduled location the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life Vigo County has relocated to the Terre Haute YMCA at 951 Dresser Drive near Fairbanks Park.

Opening ceremony begins at 3 p.m., continuing through the night, and ending at 6 a.m. on Sunday. All activities, which include survivor recognition dinner, huge silent auction, entertainment (Lemon Brothers, Bayou Dan, Swingin' Mates Square Dancers, Fossil Fuel, etc), are inside in the air conditioned building of the YMCA. All scheduled teams are asked to start setting up at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Relay for Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. Participants join together to celebrate a survivor, remember a loved one that has passed on, and to help fight back to one day have a world without cancer.

For more information or to become involved in the Relay for Life event, contact ACS Coordinator Rachel Romas at (812) 243-6541 or Rachel.Romas@cancer.org; or contact Event Chairwoman Pam Chamberlain at (812) 230-8043 or Pamela.chamberlain@indstate.edu.
