White Violet Center for Eco-Justice will host a basic herbal preparations workshop from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 13 at St. Mary-of-the-Woods.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn basic techniques used to create various herbal preparations, including teas (both decoctions and infusions), salves, creams, tinctures and poultices. The focus of this class will be on preparation methods and not on basic herbal methods or specific uses of herbs, although there will be limited discussion of these topics. The class will be taught from the Traditional Western Herbalism background, but all holistic/herbal traditions (i.e., Traditional Chinese, Ayurvedic, etc.) are welcome.
