Disability Awareness Month events planned

TERRE HAUTE — Bridges of Indiana has planned two events in March to celebrate Disability Awareness Month.

The first event, “Exceptional Explorations,” allows people with disabilities and their families to experience the Terre Haute Children’s Museum at no cost in a supported setting. The program is scheduled for 4 to 6 p.m. today at the museum.

To track the number of attendees, patrons are asked to register at the kiosk in the lobby of the museum or online at www.bridgesofindiana.com. Registration is necessary to ensure that those who participate have a positive and worthwhile experience.

For more information on the event, contact Rick Spaulding at 812-881-1220.

The second event is scheduled for 9 a.m. Thursday, where Mayor Duke Bennett will read a proclamation and present a short speech on the importance of recognizing Disability Awareness Month in the city of Terre Haute.

This event is open to the public and anyone affected by a disability is invited to attend at the Bridges of Indiana office at 21 N. 11th St.

For more information, contact Debby Haskell at 812-478-0724.
