Walk MS coming up Sept. 15

TERRE HAUTE — This September, Wabash Valley residents will step toward a world free of multiple sclerosis by participating in Walk MS: Wabash Valley 2012, which will begin with check-in at 9 a.m. Sept. 15 on the campus of St. Mary-of-the-Woods College. The walk will begin at 10 a.m.

Walk MS: Wabash Valley 2012 is one of eight Walk MS events throughout the state hosted by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society — Indiana State Chapter to generate funds to drive research for a cure and raise awareness about MS.

Walk MS serves as a rallying point for thousands of family, friends, colleagues, neighbors and loved ones to show their support for those living with the challenges of MS. A festival environment awaits the walkers as they cross the finish line, celebrating their vision of a world free of multiple sclerosis. Six walks are staged in various locations during the months of April and May, and two events are staged in September.

There is no cost to participate, although walkers are encouraged to raise funds in support of the Society. This year’s event will feature a one-mile and a three-mile route, both within the campus of St. Mary-of-the-Woods.

To register call 1-800-FIGHT-MS (344-4867), option 2 or visit www.walkms
