Register for ‘Joy of Healthy Eating’ workshop

TERRE HAUTE — The Maple Center for Integrative Health and Union Hospital will sponsor a seminar and luncheon “The Joy of Healthy Eating” by chef Wendell Fowler on Sept. 15. The event will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Landing at Fort Harrison, 3350 N. Fourth St.

Fowler is a nationally known inspirational speaker and television personality, vegan chef, cookbook author and entertainer. The morning’s activities also feature local experts, Maple Center board chair Kathleen Stienstra, with a presentation on “The Joy of Digesting Well,” and Indiana State University professor emeritus, Jean Kristeller, on “The Joy of Mindful Eating.”

Fowler will demonstrate “The Joy of Easily Prepared Foods” from noon to 1 p.m. by preparing the foods being served for lunch. The menu is Mediterranean quinoa salad, green salad with beets and oranges, whole grain rolls and chocolate pudding or chocolate dipped strawberries. The cost of the day’s presentation is $20 per person and advance registration is required. The last day to register is Sept. 10. Registration may be online at www.themaplecenter.org.
