Planned Parenthood offering some birth control pills at half price

TERRE HAUTE — Planned Parenthood of Indiana is now offering select brands of birth control pills for half price.

“PPIN is the one-stop shop for quality, affordable health care and birth control,” said Vice President of Patient Services Liz Carroll. “On average, our normal birth control prices are about $5 less than at most pharmacies and now we have our half-price pill option. Women can get life-saving screenings, quality care and their birth control supplies in one visit, while saving time and money. Patients may also buy up to a year’s supply in one visit. We are trying to help patients simplify their lives.”

In these tough economic times, health care should not be put on the back burner. If Hoosiers put off annual exams and don’t use birth control consistently because of financial concerns, then they become more vulnerable to unintended pregnancy and disease. It is crucial that routine health care remain a priority.

“We have all been affected by the economic downturn in one way or another, and even in these difficult times, Planned Parenthood of Indiana remains committed to providing quality, affordable health care to our patients,” said Planned Parenthood of Indiana President and CEO Betty Cockrum. “Patients have been telling us that affordable birth control is important now more than ever, so we’re very pleased to be offering these popular birth control pills at a discounted rate to help keep health care affordable for our patients.”

PPIN also encourages patients to take advantage of the We Deliver! program. PPIN allows active patients to order their contraceptive supplies by phone, fax, U.S. Mail or online for the price of the contraceptive plus shipping and handling.
