Sen. Lugar sponsors 32nd annual fitness fair

INDIANAPOLIS — U.S. Sen. Dick Lugar will host the 32nd annual Dick Lugar Community Run, Walk and Health & Fitness Fair on Sept. 18 on Butler University’s campus. In conjunction with this event, Lugar will present the Dick Lugar Health and Fitness Awards.

Nominees are sought statewide and are presented to Indiana professionals or volunteers who have made significant contributions to their communities in health or fitness awareness and education. Lugar will honor the winners at an awards ceremony on Sept. 18 at the Butler Health and Recreation Complex.  The names of the recipients also will be added to a permanent plaque in Lugar’s Indianapolis office.

Nominations should include the nominee’s name, address, e-mail address, phone number and a description of his/her contributions to the community in health/fitness awareness and education.

Nominations must be received by 5 p.m. on Sept. 8.

As part of the 32nd annual event, Lugar will also host a health fair at Butler University’s Health and Recreation Complex from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. The health fair features many vendors with varied health information and free screenings.
